October is hands down my favorite month of the year. It represents family milestones, a season change, and the magic that is Halloween. I’ve talked before about what this month means to me. But no matter each year that passes and I add a number to my age I will never feel too old to soak up every bit of Halloween. Some people think of Christmas in July, I’m thinking of October.
The air gets the slightest crisp but we are still enjoying late evenings and eighty degree days. I never tire of pulling out decorations and planning our annual Halloween party. It’s more than picking out a costume and wrapping the yard in spider webs, it’s the magic of free spirit and being whatever you want to be. I love seeing so many people join together to be festive. We spent last Saturday running around San Clemente’s Carnival Colossal and the rides, tickets, and games had all of us smiling ear to ear.
For some this time of year means Pumpkin Spice Lattes (which is a hard NO from me), but I enjoy that the Holiday makes things a bit moodier and darker. It is the change in weather and season that we embrace a deeper side. I threw together some images that have called to me. I love the contrast of mixing the dark with the light.
A combination of moody olive & black mixed with the golden orange of fall. I have fallen for those deep emeralds and put together a desktop wallpaper to share with you.
