This beautiful one bedroom one bathroom retreat located off the Oaxaca Coast in Mexico is high on my to visit list. The home is a work of art, providing the basic necessities in a natural and elegant environment. A private pool, views for days, and a short walk to the ocean, this would be the perfect couple getaway (hint hint hubby).
We recently put an offer in on a little cottage in South Laguna. While it wasn’t exactly what we were looking for and needed some work, we were excited at the prospect of buying something and put some real work into it. During that time I went in to over drive looking at ideas to make the space functional. It would have taken some work to get the home in the shape we needed and during that time all the kids share a bedroom layout that was large enough for two bedrooms, but had a crazy floor plan. I wanted to gather some ideas that would work for us if our offer went through.
Urban Outfitters is having an awesome home sale right now. Tons of their home products are up to 40% off. If we weren’t in the middle of trying to buy a home, I would be all over some of these items. Here are a few things that have been sitting on my wishlist and are taking some serious restraint not to buy before we move.
Before we get to the renovated Gotland summer home, a bit about my admiration for Sweden.
As a teenager I was able to spend a summer traveling the Southern part of Sweden with one of my best friends. Diana is the niece of my first au pair and lived with us for my freshman year of high school. Once the school year was over we travelled to her hometown of Falkenberg, Sweden, continuing on to Goteberg, Baståd, and Halmstad. Diana and I traveled around the South West of the country visiting family and friends. Long walks through the woods, mornings jumping in the water, exploring city life. We shopped, ate delicious food, dyed my hair brown (a story for another time), and spent nights talking into the early morning. It was a trip that opened my eyes to the vastness of the world. As a result,Scandinavia will always hold a very special place it my heart.
Are you ready? Today’s home feature is crazy beautiful. Even better than the 2001 feature film and my teen self LOVED that one. On a serious note, this home is a work of art.
Located on the West Coast of South Africa, the design boasts an open floor plan with clean minimalism while embracing the natural elements of the Cape. Combining my two favorite materials, stark whites with warm woods. The open space connecting the dining area, kitchen, and living space allows for family time and easy entertaining.
